Communité/MIC is a comprehensive, large-scale solution for unified communications, allowing users to retrieve voicemail and faxes through a personal web site or a touch-tone phone. Advanced features include follow me, presence management, call screening, rulebased call routing, and message notification. 

Note: UMIT will be upgrading the University community's voicemail servcies to Office 365 Voicemail in a phased approach, beginning October 2016. Office 365 Voicemail provides the University community with more efficient voicemail services ­– including missed call notifications via email and the ability to listen to your voicemail messages online.


  • Required: Must have UM telephone and voice line.


  • Customize the system to meet your specific needs by creating rules to handle telephone calls, faxes, and voice messages. Set rules based on certain conditions, such as the time of day, or your availability status, forwarding a call to another number. A key feature of Communité/MIC is the telephone user interface (TUI). The interface lets you dial in and retrieve messages from any touchtone phone.
