What do I need to know about contact tracing?
Students who are experiencing COVID-19-related symptoms, or believe they have been exposed to the virus, are not to come to campus and should call the University's COVID-19 hotline at 305-243-ONE-U (6638) and visit the Student Health Service website for additional COVID-19 information.
If needed, contact tracing will be initiated to identify University of Miami individuals who may have come into contact with an infected person. Contact tracing will be conducted by the University's UTRACE team for any confirmed cases, and COVID-19-positive individuals will be required to self-isolate. Click here for contact tracing FAQs.
General Student Health Service (SHS) guidelines include:
- For non-urgent issues, email studenthealth@miami.edu.
- For urgent assistance, call 305-284-9100 (including after hours).
- For emergencies, students are urged to seek emergency care or dial 911.
Contact SHS if you have...
- symptoms of COVID-19.
- been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
- tested positive for COVID-19 outside of Student Health Service.
- any other COVID-19 medical questions.
Students who test positive for COVID-19 outside of Student Health Service or have been exposed to COVID-19 should complete the Student Health Service COVID-19 self report form.
